Our Journey

  • 2020

  • 2019

  • One new strategy.... 2018

We launched our new ‘Set Your Brand Free’ campaign to capture the range of design and branding services we offer to refine and enhance your business.  Of course to ‘Set Your Brand Free’ you need print, signage and web too.

  • One new look.... 2017

    2017 A

You will notice our bright and fresh new branding. Our cyan, magenta and yellow Suzuki Swifts have been custom wrapped to add a distinctive aspect to the Freedom brand.

    2017 B

Freedom has now tripled the size of their factory floor area and purchased this commercial site. A point of difference is the new specialist signage division, installation of the latest flatbed print technology and multiple vehicle signage bays.

  • One vibrant team... 2016

Team Freedom now includes over 10 team members all skilled in specialist areas covering design, print, web, and signage.
  • One ongoing passion.... 2013

    2017 A
    2017 B

Freedom continues to remain up to date with the very latest Print Technology. In 2013 we travelled to Chicago to purchase new digital presses.

  • One new commercial building.... 2008

    2017 A
    2017 B

Freedom Print and Design had truly outgrown its residential location. Their next big plan was searching for commercial premises - a blank canvas to further build the freedom brand! A central location - 900 metres from the square was secured. The lease was signed!

    2017 A
    2017 B

The Freedom design team set to work creating concepts that featured intense blue and lime branding! (After all blue and lime were super on-trend colours when Freedom started). With the new building came more new plant and technology, new staff members and new capabilities.

  • One Guarantee

On time, every time or its Free - became our guarantee, our promise and something we lived by. Dan would work around the clock making sure every print job was delivered ‘on time every time’! Printing through until 2 and 3am was common too! (Wow…. how our branding has evolved….. that branded car was super cool!)
  • One new house.... 2003

Within a short time, Freedom was on the move. This time they had a small fence sign (in keeping with council bylaws of course) and a little more space for business to grow. The lounge became Freedom HQ. As the months and years past, the garage also became a production hub. Next, bedroom number one became a design suite and then bedroom number two was quickly ‘chocka’ too! From small beginnings with one machine to a thriving print company gaining traction in the Manawatu region.
  • One house... One man... One Machine...

Back in the day, 2002 in fact, Dan Wheeler took a risk investing 44k in digital print technology. This was a time when old printing presses were the norm and computer-based digital technology was only just starting to emerge. Freedom Print and Design ‘House’ was born. People started knocking at the door ‘I hear you do printing’…. One rented house Adams Place, Palmerston North was the beginning of this journey (shhh don’t tell the landlord).
